Other tips for using proper pronouns are to always capitalize the first name of the subject or the object, whether the topic is a person idea, place, or thing. In short, when you see “this house,” don’t say “That house.” When referring to people, it is always preferable to use “he,” “she,” “that person,” “this person,” “that thing,” or “my friend.”
Another important tip for writing a good descriptive essay is to make sure your information can be connected to the topic. For example, if you are writing a story about a trip you took to your next-door neighbor’s house, start by sharing how long you have been friends with that person. Then share how often you go to his or her house. It is not necessary to discuss every aspect of your friendship; just mention two or three times how much you have enjoyed being together.
